CARE GUIDE

HOW TO TAKE CARE FOR YOUR ANNA PIECE

Silk is rightly called the queen of textiles for it’s lustre, royal appeal, luxury, comfort, elegance, sensuousness and glamour.

Silk’s natural beauty and properties of comfort in a warm weather and retention of warmth during winters have made it a popular fibre for high-fashion clothing.

The natural fibres in silk have excellent properties that will prolong the time you can wear it without washing – silk is moisture-wicking and anti-bacterial.

Our garments are hand made to the highest possible standard with focus on every detail.

We undertake a massive quality control inspection, with each piece being checked for any potential issue.

All of our garments are designed in-house by the two of us, with our creative studio & seamstress partners in Prague.

We design all of our prints exclusively for each season.

HAND WASHING

We recommend hand washing your ANNA piece in cool water – this will preserve the life of the garment and the saturation of its colour.

We are not suggesting you stop washing your silk pieces altogether, but you probably dont need to wash them as much as you think you do. Try spot cleaning them when needed and then airing them – silk is a beautifully breathable, natural fibre and so managing your pieces in this way will prolong the time you can go between washes.

We recommend using a specialist silk detergent.

DO NOT MACHINE WASH

In reality, we know from experience these items can sometimes end up in the machine and that is fine.

We dont encourage you to wash your ANNA piece this way, but if you trust your washing machine and usually wash your delicates in it, these are our tips.

It is very important that you use a specialist silk detergent.

Non-specialist detergents often contain chemicals that can damage the colour and finish of silk (& cashmere garments).

Please choose a gentle “hand wash” or “silk/wool” cycle and set the temperature to cold if there is no staining, up to 20C if there are light stains and 30C if there are any stubborn marks. Never wash delicate fabrics over 30C. The cooler the water the longer the silk will last and the better it will feel coming out of the machine. Avoid using any stain removers.

AIR DRYING AND IRONING

Hang your silks to air dry and never put any of your ANNA in the tumble dryer.

Iron or steam your ANNA to restore lustre and sheen to the silk. Use your iron’s delicate or silk heat setting.

Iron on the reverse side of your garment.

If you need to iron directly on the front, place a cotton cloth over the area to protect the silk.
